The government on Monday formally informed the agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) about the Cabinet decision to address the latter’s demands. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa, who is also the coordinator of government talks team, invited the SLMM leaders at his office and informed about the government decision.Morcha leader Ram Naresh Raya said that they were summoned by government talks team coordinator to inform about Sunday’s Cabinet decision. “He [DPM Kamal Thapa] informed about the government decision and intention,” said Raya, “The Morcha will make its position on the decision after holding discussion.” Leaders aligned with SLMM including Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Vice Chairman Lal Babur Raut, Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party General Secretary Sarbendra Nath Sukla, Sabhawana Co-Chairman Laxman Lal Karna and Senior leader of Tarai Madhes Sadbhawan Party Ram Naresh Raya went to Foreign Ministry at around 4 in the afternoon today. The leaders are members of the agitating Madhesi Morcha’s talks team. An emergency Cabinet meeting on Sunday evening decided to form a high-level political mechanism with a mandate to submit reports on redrawing the borders of federal provinces outlined by the newly adopted constitution with acceptable recommendations for all sides within three months of its formation.
