The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has directed the government to reach out to the survivors of April/May earthquakes with relief assistance within the next seven days.The CIAA on Monday summoned representatives of the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Home Ministry, Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development, Health Ministry, Commerce Ministry and chiefs of three security bodies and urged them to leave no stone unturned in terms of providing relief assistance to the disaster victims.

The CIAA expressed its concerns for the quake survivors following the death of some victims due to severe cold in Dhading, Gorkha, Lalitpur, Dolakha and Rasuwa, the most-affected districts.

The Health Ministry was directed to supply medicos to the disaster-hit districts which have been facing additional health-related problems due to increasing cold. It also drew the attention of the bodies concerned towards providing fuel to the disaster victims smoothly, according a Spokesperson for the CIAA Krishnahari Pushkar.
