Buakaw VS Yi Long – Fight of the Century

Thailand at the night of June 6th 2015, you will see Thai people crowd in front of television and watched remarkable fight between Muay Thai and Kung Fu; Buakaw VS Yi Long.

Buakaw Banchamek, a 32-year old muay thai fighter and the two time K-1 World MAX champion , entered this fight with a professional kickboxing record of 257-41-12 (65 knockouts). Today Buakaw had fought with younger opponent, a 28-year old Shaolin kung-fu fighter Yi Long, who has an official record of 47-5-1.

Actually this fight between Buakaw and Yi Long was announced by Max Muay Thai for December 31, 2013, and it should start in 2014. Unfortunately, the match was cancelled because Buakaw was under contract to Thai Fight. Max Muay Thai was threatened, if Buakaw fights on their card.

Look at the previous fight, Buakaw suffered his last defeat in 2014 when he faced Enriko Kehl in the final of the K-1 World MAX (but it was a controversial ending, Buakaw vs Kehl 2); after this bout he came back to win beating Steve Moxon , Dmytro Konstantynov (=Buakaw vs Konstantynov) and Yan Bin (or Yuan Bing, Buakaw vs Bin).
