The results of the regional elections of Nepali Congress held in Lalitpur before the party’s 13th general convention scheduled for March 3-5 have been announced. The regional elections had concluded on Friday. Rajan Ghimire and Madhesh Khadka were elected as the new presidents from constituency no 1 and 2, respectively. Likewise, Gajendra Maharjan won the election from the constituency no 2, Election Officer Udyog Prasad Timilsina said. Lalitpur district has a total of three constituencies and each constituency has nominated a six-member team for the general convention. Meenkrishna Maharjan, Uday Shamser Rana, Mathura Prasad Ghimire, Rhishiram Ghimire, Ganesh Bahadur KC and Khom Prasad Ghimire will represent constituency no 1 (direct) in the party’s upcoming General Convention.
