After the earthquake, a large number of artists from the Nepali film and music industry made it their mission to support the earthquake victims. Rekha Thapa spent three days in Arya Ghat helping out in cremation. She even bore the cost of burial for unclaimed bodies. She also donated Rs. 500, 000, money from her upcoming release, to help build homes for technicians, and few media workers whose houses in Sindupalchwok and Nuwakot were destroyed. They built 10 toilets for 40 quake affected households in Sindupalchowk and also constructed seven class-rooms of a primary school in Nuwakot. The money came from various fundraisers organised in the United States, prior to the quake. -
